Domestic Matters is a series of assemblages that address the political dimension of private life under the scope of visual economics. This term explores the dynamics and systems that manage iconic production, distribution, and consumption and how those dynamics affect the meaning of images. Fragments of baroque paintings are partially hidden in cabinets-like structures with wood or glass panels that remain fixed. By altering and partially concealing the underneath images, the pieces evoke the privacy of domestic life and materialize the obscure context and narratives surrounding those paintings.
