On Popular Music-

In many of Adorno’s texts on musicology, he criticized what he called popular music: jazz, folk, and protest songs. He even claimed in a television interview: “I believe, in fact, that attempts to bring political protest together with popular music, that is, entertainment music - are for the following reason doomed from the start.” From these texts and declarations, I decided to tackle a sound piece, appropriating some of the musical compositions created by Adorno and popularizing them, translating them into the vernacular, turning them into a techno remix that has been edited as a limited edition LP.
